FAQ

Q: Where do we start?

A: I suggest signing up to get my free report, which is filled with information about making your marketing materials more effective.

  1. Contact me, and we’ll set up a 30-minute phone consultation. We’ll talk about your needs, and create a strategy that will help you achieve your goals.
  2. I’ll email you an agreement, outlining our plan, as well as the costs.
  3. You’ll sign and return the agreement to me, along with your deposit, within five days.
  4. As soon as I receive your agreement and deposit, I’ll get to work!

I promise to have your work completed within our agreed-upon time frame, provided that I receive all necessary information and materials from you in a timely manner.

Q: I work for a foreign company that does business with Americans. What’s the difference between hiring you and just asking one of our American employees to correct my writing?

A: Yes, presumably, most people can read and write their native language, and can find errors. But I offer you more than just corrected English. As a writer and editor, I have over twelve years of experience with helping clients, both native English speaking and non-native, to refine and create strong writing for business, training, technical documentation, and academic publications.

Q: Will you ghost write my book on spec and agree to payment after the book is published?

A: No. Payment for ghostwriting is “up-front,” not based on whether a publisher agrees to publish the book. I do not accept “future royalties” or “advances” as part of payment, unless that book has already received a firm commitment from a publisher, and the publisher feels the book will do well. Ghostwriting a book takes a significant amount of time, and can be like a full-time job. We writers have to eat.

Q: What is your payment schedule?

A: I require a 50% prepayment before work begins on a project, with the balance due on completion. When a project is $1,000 or more, we can arrange payment of three or more installments. Long term or academic clients may work on retainer or suggest another arrangement.

    Hi Heidi,
So, I hear you are in Somerville. We should get together–for fun and business, too.
Check my website for the marketing group and see if you’re interested. I can imagine a great barter! I’ve got one opening in the current group, which meets one Wed a month from 9:15-11:15.
In any case, I’d like to talk. Always in need of a good writer for myself and others.
Hoping your adjustment has been smooth.
    Best to you,
    Szifra
